Backup your hard drive with DriveImage XML

Windows is not a perfect operating system and in time, you might experience a system crash. If this has already happened or you just want to backup your hard drive, then use DriveImage XML.

With the help of this freeware application, you can create hard drive backup copies fast and easy, using XML image files. Later, you can restore the content of the image file using the Restore option. The backup process can be automated using the Windows Task Scheduler. In order to do this, follow the instructions within DriveImage XML (Tools –>Task Scheduler).

When creating a backup, DriveImage XML can use Microsoft’s Volume Shadow Services (VSS), meaning your are able to backup files that are currently in use.

You can extract only the files you need from the created backups. Use the Browse option from within the application’s interface. Push the Load Image button and select the desired backup.

DriveImage XML is compatible with Windows XP/2003/Vista. DriveImage XML is available free of charge only for personal use.

Update your computer’s drivers with DriverMax 4.4; this Windows utility freeware will scan your computer and confront the results with it’s own database, therefore you will download your drivers from one place.

After downloading the installer and running it, the application will automatically scan your system’s drivers. You will be requested to register for a free account to use the software for more than 30 days. After confirming your email address, restart DriverMax and input your activation code that you’ve received in your email. Congratulations, you have activated the program!

DriverMax 4.4 offers two features that are really helpful. You are able to export/backup all of your current drivers and also import them, free of charge. Before updating any drivers, I strongly recommend that you use the Export Drivers feature described below.

If you have to reinstall your Operating System in the near future or just want to make sure that your drivers are properly backed up, then simply select Driver Operations from the program’s interface, then click Export Drivers; choose which drivers you wish to backup and then export them into a ZIP file. In order to revert your drivers to their original state, use the Import Drivers option and the ZIP file you’ve created previously.

After making sure that you have a copy of your drivers, use the Check for driver updates tools in the Updates and identification menu. Wait for a couple of minutes and hopefully, a window should open in your browser, listing your current installed drivers and possible updates. If you get “internal server error” on the page, then try again later. All you have to do is to download each driver update and DriverMax will install it for free. Backup your files with Yadis! Backup

For those of you who want to be sure that your data is in good hands, Yadis! Backup is the right tool for you. This application can create backup copies of your files located on your hard disk.

All you have to do is choose the files that you wish to copy and their destination.

Another important feature is that the files that you have selected are backed-up in real-time, but this function might eat some of your computers resources.

You must also have the .NET framework installed (minimum version required: 2.0), but the program installs it automatically. The backed up files can be used without Yadis!.

Overall, Codessentials delivers a suitable application for new users that sometimes have difficulties in backing up their important documents.
