RadarSync – update drivers for free

About two weeks ago, I’ve written an article about another program used for updating drivers called DriverMax. Although I haven’t fully tested the application, I must say that the product found some driver updates. DriverMax’ strong point is its driver backup feature. Paul commented on the article about DriverMax and informed me about another driver updating software, RadarSync.

RadarSync is a freeware application that will help you update your PC’s essential drivers. Besides drivers, the program will also look for updates for other software installed on your computer. In order to make the most out of your hardware devices, it is important to use the latest drivers available. After downloading and installing RadarSync, the program will perform a scan on your system. If there are any available updates, the application will list them.

The developers of RadarSync declare that the downloads are directly from the vendor’s website. I recommend creating a restore point before updating any drivers. Safety first!

The applications interface is easy-to-use and professional looking at the same time.

I must say that if you have some spare time, you should manually check that the update exists; no program is perfect. RadarSync told me that there is a new release of the Safari browser, when it turned out that I’ve already had the latest version.

DriverMax – download driver updates for your PC

Update your computer’s drivers with DriverMax 4.4; this Windows utility freeware will scan your computer and confront the results with it’s own database, therefore you will download your drivers from one place.

After downloading the installer and running it, the application will automatically scan your system’s drivers. You will be requested to register for a free account to use the software for more than 30 days. After confirming your email address, restart DriverMax and input your activation code that you’ve received in your email. Congratulations, you have activated the program!

DriverMax 4.4 offers two features that are really helpful. You are able to export/backup all of your current drivers and also import them, free of charge. Before updating any drivers, I strongly recommend that you use the Export Drivers feature described below.

If you have to reinstall your Operating System in the near future or just want to make sure that your drivers are properly backed up, then simply select Driver Operations from the program’s interface, then click Export Drivers; choose which drivers you wish to backup and then export them into a ZIP file. In order to revert your drivers to their original state, use the Import Drivers option and the ZIP file you’ve created previously.

After making sure that you have a copy of your drivers, use the Check for driver updates tools in the Updates and identification menu. Wait for a couple of minutes and hopefully, a window should open in your browser, listing your current installed drivers and possible updates. If you get “internal server error” on the page, then try again later. All you have to do is to download each driver update and DriverMax will install it for free. The .NET Framework is Microsoft’s platform for developing powerful applications that provide great functionality and rich user experiences. Programs that use the framework include graphic editors, games, messengers, Microsoft office extensions, complex business software and many many more.

Version 3.5 of the .NET framework supports the new Microsoft technologies: Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), Windows Workflow Foundation (WF) and Windows CardSpace.

In the latest release (.NET Framework Service Pack 1), many features and improvements are added:

ASP.NET Dynamic Data which enables fast data-driven development with no code needed
modifications to the CLR (common language runtime) which improves security and application performance
WPF additions and improvements- faster startup, DirectX pixel shader support and the new WebBrowser control
ADO.NET Entity Framework allows more powerful data-oriented applications that are available on multiple platforms

True, the installer is about 3MB, but after you run it, a couple of hundred MB will be used…

The most popular tool for building .NET Framework applications is Visual Studio (2008 is the latest edition at this moment). If you don’t wish to buy the product, you can use the Express Editions which are free of charge; Microsoft Visual C# 2008 Express Edition is one of them.

Sqirlz Water Reflections – add effects to your photos

With Sqirlz Water Reflections you can add interesting effects to your photos. Besides the water reflection effect, you can add snow, rain or even rippling circles.

The interface is simple, every button suggests what it does due to the intuitive drawings. What you have to do is open your image or movie and select the Outline tool. Every effect that you will add can be set in every little detail, like the number of snow flakes or raindrops, their direction, transparency, speed, texture. You don’t have to edit just pictures were there is water drawn, the results are positive in every photo you wish to change.

Paradoxically, the effects are so realistic, that you might need to lower their quality if you have a not so fast computer.
